Its finally happening! The first annual DR Colorado Meet Up!!!
On June 3rd plan on being at Havana Manor Louisville starting at 3:00 P.M. and going until closing. (Location information for the shop is available at the bottom of this page.) Not only are we getting the hospitality of such a nice facility BUT we are also fortunate enough to have Illusione Cigars there to party with us and of course their rep will be offering member specials throughout the day so be sure to have your patches and coins on you.
This event will also be a BYOB so make sure you bring food and whatever you like to drink to share with everyone and lets make this a great time. We look forward to seeing everyone out there and having a few cigars with the family. As always even though this is an official DR member event non-members are always welcome to come and join the fun and get to see what we’re all about. See you there!!!

Mark your calendars everybody because it’s almost that time of year again. The time for the DR crawfish boil. This year its happening on April 29th at DR HQ S&M Smoke Shop in Fort Pierce. It starts at 5:00 and goes until we feel like stopping. As usual we’ll be supplying the food you bring the booze!
This year we are happy to have Moya Ruiz to be the cigar sponsor for this event and Nelson himself just might be stopping by to party with us. As always there will be great cigar giveaways, raffles and discounts on products. Last year was a great event and we are hoping to make this event even better. Look forward to seeing you all there again.
As always there is a ton of space at Steve and Missy’s and the humidor is always stocked for us!

Blackwoods Flake… This is a very interesting smoke, it is complex but at the same time it is simple… I know, I know oxymoron. Here’s what I mean you can taste all sorts of things as you smoke it, but by the end of the smoke and the aftertaste is straight up creamy butter (and it is great!)
Ok so opening the tin up it is the standard ketchup vinegar smell of this brand. The first light was of hay and nuts. The second light was even better it was a buttery nut kind of taste. I sat back and started my relaxing session. This entailed some reading, and stopping here and there to get taste of what the smoke was like. By ten minutes in I was experiencing pecans and butter; it reminded me my childhood and my love for roasted pecans.
Half way through it was like having a bowl of nuts, stone fruits, and raisins it was just continuing to get better and better as time progressed on. The baccy does tend to smoke a little hot but this is because of the sugar content, if you go slowly it won’t bite at all. I also noticed that the slower you went the more complex the smoke was. The last bit of the smoke was reminiscent of dates and cream; it was a really nice way to finish off the smoke. I did end up with a little bit of tongue bite but it wasn’t too serious at all. I think everyone who like Virginia based tobaccos should try this.
