ARCHETYPE CHAPTER 3: THE LEGEND CONTINUES

Ventura Archetype 3Ventura Cigar Company (VCC) announced today the addition of Chapter 3 to its Archetype Cigars story, with two new tobacco blends set to release in June at IPCPR 2019. These unique cigars, named Sacred Scales and Dawn of Destiny, are crafted by Cigar Master Ernesto Perez-Carrillo in his award-winning factory in the Dominican Republic. Perez-Carrillo and Michael Giannini, General Manager at Ventura Cigar, have a unique friendship which spans over the last 20 years, crossing paths at different points in their career journeys. Archetype Chapter 3 is a celebration that marks their 3rd cigar collaboration, and the beginning of a new phase in the Archetype story, and in their story as icons in the cigar industry. Attendees of IPCPR will be among the first to try the new Archetype Chapter 3 blends and bring them into their store’s inventory.

Inspired by the work of psychologist Dr. Carl Jung and mythographer Joseph Campbell, Archetype Cigars herald the Hero’s Journey, a common storytelling arc that has been shared across cultures, space and time.

Chapter 3’s Sacred Scales, marks the inflection point in this journey, beginning the hero’s return to the real world from the imaginary. This full-bodied, full-flavored cigar offers a rich, signature Ernesto Perez-Carrillo smoking experience, featuring a San Andres Maduro wrapper from Mexico, an Ecuadorian binder, and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua. Sacred Scales will be available in a 5 x 50 Robusto, 6 x 52 Toro, and 6 x 60 Gordo.

Dawn of Destiny represents the hero’s return to reality as it travels across the threshold of flavor. A medium-full-bodied blend, this Perez-Carrillo-crafted cigar features a smooth wrapper from Ecuador, which surrounds a binder and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua. Dawn of Destiny will be available in a 5 x 50 Robusto, 6 x 52 Toro, and 6 x 60 Gordo.

The overarching Archetype experience ventures through the top-rated cigars Dreamstate, Sage Advice, Strange Passage, Initiation, and Axis Mundi. And in Fall 2018, the Archetype Mini-Series added a 3-cigar side quest with Crystals, Curses, and Cloaks.

Drew Estate Releases Five Limited Edition Gift Sets and Boxes

The Kentucky Fire Cured Swamp Thang pairs the deliciously sweet candela wrapper with the smoky & tasty Kentucky Fire Cured tobaccos, creating an eerie mystery with a unique and powerful experience. Kentucky Fire Cured Sweets features Kentucky seed tobacco grown and fire cured in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, along with Nicaraguan fillers. The cigar is wrapped with a Mexican San Andres wrapper with a sweetened tip creating a mouth feel on the cigar that is like bacon maple goodness mixed with bourbon and barbecue.

goodbye as I grabbed my keys off the counter and walk over to my garage. “Daddy’s home” I’d say to myself as I
buttoned my jacket. Good o’l Marsha is what I called my hog, but who cares, I’d take her riding for hours up the mountain side with my hair blowing in the wind… good times… I’m Totally joking, I’m a millennial, but lets dive in to this review!
Indian Motorcycle Cigars was launched in 2015 after Debonaire House co-owner Phil Zanghi re-acquired the rights to
Indian Tabac, a brand he founded with Rocky Patel. Instead of relaunching Indian Tabac at that time, he chose to enter
into a licensing agreement with Polaris, the owner of Indian Motorcycles, to create an all-new cigar brand. The Indian
Motorcycle brand of cigars followed that year with the release of the Indian Motorcycle Habano and Indian Motorcycle
Maduro.
At a glance it looks like your typical Connecticut wrapper. Light brown, slight oil sheen and visible seams. The foot has a sweet hay aroma, earthy tones play a part in creating an overall pleasant scent. Per usual a straight cut was my weapon of choice. Cold draw kinda hits you with a curve ball, notes of cedar and toasted almonds greet you with open arms then they invite you in and introduces you to Mr. wood and Mrs cream .. what a beautiful family, ok I’ll stop. Did I Forgot to mention this bad boys rocking a perfect triple cap as well.
The first third has a bit of white Pepper and hints of Toast. The Retro hale was a breeze like with most Connecticut cigars and pretty much ties everything together. To me nothing pairs with a Connecticut better then a espresso, so I did just that. Pretty much a match made in heaven to say the least. The burn is razor sharp and the ash is well constructed. The smoke output is medium and to some that doesn’t matter but I don’t enjoy smoking a cigar that has more smoke spewing off the tip then a 12yr old with his new vape mod.
The second third takes a bit of a turn, Cream notes are more prominent and a slight malty flavor starts to come in. The burn remains sharp and at this point I roll the ash off to see whats happening underneath the hood. A blunt tipped cherry is front and center maintaining the beautiful burn. *Titanic song plays in the background*
In the final third stronger flavors build up masking most of the subtle notes that were once front and center. Burn was very consistent through out the smoke. Overall a solid smoke for even a new FOTL to enjoy. Espresso was the drink of choice but if coffees not your thing id recommend a light beer or even a cider.
