The Number One Nicaraguan Cigar to the World is Now Available Nationwide

In 2018, we shared some with media and special audiences and got our highest rating in 50 years. We are now releasing it nationwide as part of Obras Maestras, the designation of our ultra-premium family of cigars.

This ‘masterpiece’ cigar provides medium body and strength, in a smoke that is refined, complex and elegant.  Creaminess complemented with light pepper notes, making it a top-ranked, exclusive, diplomat lifestyle experience. Literally.“Número Uno was developed as a unique gift and later an event-exclusive cigar, and although it wasn’t the original intention, we decided to make Número Uno available to a bigger audience. However it will remain as something exclusive, as production will be limited to 1,500 boxes a year for the global market and will be available only in selected retailers around the globe”, said Dr. Alejandro Martínez Cuenca, Chairman of Joya de Nicaragua.This blend comes in only one vitola, L’Ambassadeur, a parejo 6 5/8 x 44 tailed lonsdale. In the United States, it will be available only at DDRP brick and mortar stores, in 25 count boxes, with an MSRP of $15.00 per stick. Número Uno uses a silky and delicate Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers.

Número Uno will be showcased at the upcoming IPCPR 87th Annual Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas in June 2019 for US retailers, and at Intertabac in Dortmund, Germany in September 2019 for retailers in the rest of the world.  “We will start shipping to stores early this fall, production is slower than in other products as only a selected group of very skilled rollers are assigned to this project”, expressed Juan Ignacio Martínez, Executive President.

II saints is a French brand making guys like you look like some godly character from Game of thrones. Its almost like steam punk meets mid evil with a sprinkle of rugged tossed in there for added measure. Check them out and you’ll see what I mean.

This bad boys Filled with Jamastran, Jalapa then held together by a Jamastran binder then wrapped with a beautiful Jamastan criollo 98 wrapper. Its firm to the touch with a slight spongy feel and like most premium cigars were rocking a triple cap At a glance the Jamastan criollo 98’s wrapper is phenomenal with a butter like
smoothness yet just enough tooth to give it the edge. A sniff of the foot and your greeted by a pungent earthy tone. Weapon of choice? Straight cut. I’d say the cold draw is pretty muted slight hints of earth but darker almost like soil, get me?
For some reason I felt fancy today and lit this smoke up with a piece of cedar, something about the whole “frenchness” behind this smoke inspired me. First third pretty much took a 180 on me from what I had in mind that this smoke would be. Medium pepper, earthy, hints of dark chocolate with a sweet finish to tie it all together. A sweet after taste, nothing major at least not worth mentioning just yet.
Second third is where things start cooking and the strength comes in. Definitely a full bodied smoke and the retro hale really confirms that. The aromas on this smoke are heavenly, you get your classic aged tobacco smell we all love and care for with an added touch I cant really put my finger on, you’ll have to smoke this to understand.
The dreaded final third is a love hate relationship I’ve made with this cigar. Like most full bodied smokes the final third is a hit or miss due to the tar build up. This cigar fortunately was consistent through out with the burn being razor sharp and flavors remaining strong. There wasn’t any flavor changes on this cigar but its something I didn’t mind being that the flavors were blended so well to begin with.

Cubariqueño Cigar Co. announces the release of the Protocol Sir Robert Peel as a regular production release for the 2019 IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas. The Cigars will be offered in a natural & maduro format. The Protocol Sir Robert Peel is produced at Erik Espinosa’s La Zona Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The cigars will be available in a 6 x 52 box press format in boxes of 10. MSRP has been set at $119.50 per box. The blend incorporates an Ecuadorian Rosado wrapper covering Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The second blend utilizes the same filler but a Pennsylvania Broad Leaf wrapper. The cigar will become available nationally at the 2019 IPCPR located in Las Vegas. Sir Robert Peel is regarded as the father of modern day policing. Cubariqueño Cigar Co again pays homage to the profession of its owners Bill Ives & Juan Cancel who are police officers. We left no stone unturned for this release. Both cigars are smoking phenomenal and we took the packing up to the next level stated Juan Cancel. Cubariqueño Cigar Co. will again be partnered inside the Espinosa booth at the 2019 IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
